Stop 15 is at the enterance to Lon Strum's Riparian Buffer.

This picture, taken by Lynn Betts of the Iowa NRCS, has been used in a number of publications on riparian buffers.

This is also a great picture of the enterance to Lon Strum's riparian buffer. This buffer is just north of the Ron Risdal buffer and adds another 3/4 of a mile to the buffer length.

You will notice that there a beaver dam in the stream. These dams act as grade-control structures and help ease erosion problems.
