Stop 11 on the tour focuses on streambank stabilization techniques. Here you see a streambank that was previously vertical and denuded. You can see what a difference hard and soft engineering techniques can have.
The trees you see here are a particular clone of willow called Austree willow. Normal willows can spread by root sprouting, but this clone doesn't.
